Visual Appearance for Suomen Huoltokäynti

Visual Appearance for a Finnish Company

The school project’s goal was to learn using Adobe’s programs. We practiced them by designing a new logo, two flyers and a website template for Suomen Huoltokäynti. The company’s brand didn’t have any decent visual appearance, so they asked for our help.

We were divided to small groups. The client wished that we’d use blue and avoid red in our suggestions. They wanted a modern look, which emphasizes that they are a Finnish company.

Logo

We made our logo proposal in Adobe Illustration. It was one of the client’s favorites but unfortunately it wasn’t chosen.

The idea of the logo is to represent an apartment building, which has a fountain in the middle of the buildings. The logo is tilted to the right to give the picture a little bit more movement.

Our group made multiple versions of the logo with different colors. Eventually, we chose to present the turquoise one to the client.

Flyers

We made the company flyers with Adobe inDesign. The first one is designed to be placed on table after visiting customer’s home. The second one is a two-sided flyer to be handed out at events.

The client wished for flyers, especially the first one, to have as little text as possible. We chose to include only a message that the apartment has been checked. The client didn’t want to include any contact numbers or email addresses to the flyer, so we added only the website address and company’s social media accounts.

The logo used in the template was designed by another group.

Template

The template for this website is made in Axure RP. We chose it as our main tool, since we didn’t have Adobe XD back then and felt that Photoshop wasn’t right for this project either.

The template is designed to be a one-pager website. The navigation bar is fixed to the top and we placed our group’s planned company’s slogan Murehdi vähemmän (Worry less) in the header section. We also included valuable information about the company and what they do, the company’s backstory and contact forms into the template.

Since the client had only a few images to choose from, we got most of the them from royalty-free stock photo sites. The logo in the template was designed by another group.
